Interesting article on the cholesterol lowering drugs called "statins" http://www.newswithviews.com/Richards/byron58.htm
We have lots of patients on these medications... had a patient who was newly prescribed a "statin" drug per national "clinical guidelines," unfortunately, he didn't heed the warnings about abstaining from alcohol... he came to the ER in severe pain, kidney failure, urine was thick with blood - a condition called "rhabdomyolosis" - the breakdown of muscle throughout the body (statins can cause muscle damage - if you are on them & develop a lot of muscle pain, stop right away) when you have the breakdown of muscle like that, the proteins get into the blood & overwhelm the kidneys causing renal failure... sometimes it can be reversed, sometimes it can't & you have to go on dialysis... :-\
Just a warning... for myself, I wouldn't ever take statin drugs... eat flaxseed - Costco has organic, ground flaxseed. There's other things you can do - organic, unfiltered apple cider vinegar is also good; garlic for blood pressure - lots of websites that have good info...
Is there a possibility of providing free mandatory statins and beer to more politicians? hmm
yeah I would not be too worried about kidney failure if there was a tumor in my brain the size of a golf ball...

You don't need to have a brain tumor to get the kidney failure... ::)

I still have to ask.....where has he kept that brain hidden all these years?
I would assume that in that massive cranium of his, there should be room for a much larger tumor without pressing on anything of value.
