Look at all those rocks. Digging holes for piers won't be much fun, but maybe frost heave won't be that big and issue either...

Looks nice. We're going up this coming weekend MTL. Ten days ago there was still a couple feet of snow in the shady spaces, but the road is mostly clear, according to my neighbor.
Is that a stitch together or a really wide lens, Frank? Last fall?

Frank that must be down closer to the bottom. It would eliminate building a longer road, water to the cabin but the view is not the same as the top. Pitch a tent at both places and see which one grows on you over a couple days.

Chama got another foot of snow last Thursday :( That is a stitch, if you look in the very center at the trees, you can see where it did not do a good job.
Yup Red, down in the bottom, only at 10000 feet ;D That hill that I was on is out of bounds for a cabin (dang!) The corporation preserves quite a bit of the land to our west for elk and keeps the cabins sort of around the lake. You can see how crowded it is.
The president of the corp says that he believes that there is a spring behind me and up hill from that picture. I have easy access to the fishing pond, and the west fork of the Rio Brazos is just to the right of that pond dam by about 1/4 mile. My kids are either going to be in the lake or the stream, so I may have a chance of keeping an eye on them.
