Title: Just Love This Little Gadget
Post by: sparks on April 11, 2008, 01:40:51 AM
Believe I might have found this http://www.dallasgasprices.com/ (http://www.dallasgasprices.com/) on a post here somewhere.

Handy tool for gauging what is happening to us.

About a year ago I estimated it would be $5 per gallon within a year.  I don't think it's far off.  They are pushing us to see how much they can get away with.

Trucker strikes have already started.  I knew they would as I used to be one.

With more, maybe they can make the oil co's think a bit.  Unfortunately the poor truck drivers need to make a living too, so it's effectiveness will be limited.

I don't think it will stop until our prices are on par with the rest of the world. The US has paid alot less for gas than europe has for years. The good news is they are predicting an oil boom here in the US now that prices are high enough to make uncaping our wells and drilling new ones worth the trouble.

That would mean the taxes on our motor fuels would have to increase dramatically. Most of the historical price difference in fuels have been the higher taxes in other countries.

As for drilling new wells here, you still have to convince the "greens" of the necessity.

OK a chance to put on your thinking hats.  What was the major reason that the gas prices excalated from a steady price a couple years ago.  Oil suppliers are saying it was not a shortage of crude.  They say the US economy is what has driven up the prices.  ????  Another things that is hard for me to grasp is the cost of deisel. For years deisel had been 30-40 cents cheaper than regular gas.  Now it is 50-60 cents higher.  I am sure that if the question was posed to a refinery they would say "low sulphur" developement is what drove it up. BS  Even with the adoption of new products to meet emissions has never risen the product up at the rate that it deisel  has climbed.

Greed -- oil companies and corporate America in control of government.  Investigations are just shams because the oil companies are where our so called "leaders" come from.  They don't give a crap about the people who have to put out a larger portion of their income to buy their products.  That is part of the reason they are in office.  To help maximize profits that benefit their investments.
