We're chemical for now. SunMar composting in the future.

More variety out in the woods than at home ;)
Don, I have an RV toilet installed inside my cabin, plumbed for water just like in an RV. I have two 10 gal totes that I connect to the pipe directly under the toilet underneath my cabin. RV toilets use little water, and so the totes last us awhile. When full I just load the totes in my vehicle and take and dump at an RV dump station. Pretty simple system to operate and maintain. In fact, my cabin operates much like a permanently parked RV. I have an RV propane hot water heater, 12 volt water pump, along with the RV toilet. We haul our water in and pump it into a plastic 55 gal barrel.
When we are out at the cabin, I usually find a tree to water, and encourage any other men to water the surrounding aspens and firs. Cuts down on cabin water use and adds much-needed nitrogen to the earth. And as for the ladies flushing the toilet, my daughter says (always in her own way), "Hey Dad, if it's yellow, it's mellow; if it's brown, it's down."
Amazing just how little water one can do with if only a little effort and attitude change is made.
Good to see you around here Hal.
How is your solar electric system working? Did you get the wind working for you?

Toilets - Part Two...Did you mean Number Two, Don? hmm
Our "other" is a potty chair that we found at a yard sale. So we're a modified one holer at camp! We dig a hole, put the pot chair over it and when the hole needs to buried.... time to move the pot chair! ;D
Cool. That's how our original started out -- 2' high plywood sides with a one holer and no walls to spoil the view. We used lime dipped out of a bag with a paper cup to cover our creations. It keeps the rodents from lunching out and fossilizes them for future geologists to find and learn about our civilization.
Welcome to the forum.

a childish response......
