A woman in Boulder Colorado, bastion of uber liberals, has been cited by the animal control department for having dyed her poodle pink. :o She used beet juice, organic no less, to color the dog. She runs a hair salon and dyed the dog to promote breast cancer awareness. So now she has a date in court to fight off the potential $1000 fine. Nucking Futs!!

Court date put off to April 7th
...and people wonder why I'm anti-authoritarian...
Are you going to dye one of your animals pink now too Glenn? :)
As soon as I saw Boulder, Co. I knew it was going to be stupid. People in Co. call Boulder 8 square miles surrounded by reality.
Shoot, I would've gone to jail a long time ago if I lived in Boulder... when I was a kid, I used to dye my dog green with food coloring and vinegar every St. Patrick's Day, just for the fun of it. He loved the attention he got out of the deal.

Spruce Yuppies ! :)
I don't think that lady will be in any trouble after all no harm came to the dog. I don't see anything worng with dying a dog with organic or otherwise non harmful dyes but spraypainting is out. I thought about getting some Nice and Easy for a dog once that I was trying to save from animal control unfortunately they got wind of my plan and picked up the dog before I had a chance to change her identity.

I was thinking of having Sassy spank me until I was pink and parade me around on a leash in downtown Boulder. See if they could make something out of that. [crz]

Thing is there'd probably be no problem with the public nudity... it's the corporal punishment that they'd have a problem with... ::)
