Did they change it again? thought it was first Sunday in April. Now it's this Sunday, March 9th ? ???
Starting in 2007, daylight time begins in the United States on the second Sunday in March and ends on the first Sunday in November. On the second Sunday in March, clocks are set ahead one hour at 2:00 a.m. local standard time, which becomes 3:00 a.m. local daylight time. On the first Sunday in November, clocks are set back one hour at 2:00 a.m. local daylight time, which becomes 1:00 a.m. local standard time. These dates were established by the Energy Policy Act of 2005, Pub. L. no. 109-58, 119 Stat 594 (2005).

They want us to be able to work more hours...help the economy...make the elite more money. ::)...although I do like more play time.
I'm all in favor of daylight savings time... am really glad it starts this weekend. Would just as soon they leave it that way year round because I don't mind getting up in the dark, but in the winter when it gets dark so early, it just makes me sleepy, so there I am dozing off at 4:30 or 5:00.

Glad you reminded us - I'd have never known it... I don't like getting up earlier but I do like it that it is light later - we don't really need that changes anymore - we're not an agricultural nation - so they might as well leave it on daylight savings time...
Ok I'll be the one to say I don't like Daylight savings time. I hate going to work in the dark. Standard time year round would be better.
Do any other countries or any other places in the world use DST? Is the US the only place that enacts this?
It's common around the world in the high latitudes.
Other parts of the world observe Daylight Saving Time as well. While European nations have been taking advantage of the time change for decades, in 1996 the European Union (EU) standardized a EU-wide European Summer Time. This EU version of Daylight Saving Time runs from the last Sunday in March through the last Sunday in October.
In the southern hemisphere where summer comes in December, Daylight Saving Time is observed from October to March. Equatorial and tropical countries (lower latitudes) don't observe Daylight Saving Time since the daylight hours are similar during every season, so there's no advantage to moving clocks forward during the summer.

Here in AZ we have so much sunshine we don't save any. The clock stays the same year round. Part of the year we are on Pacific time and the other part we are on Mountain time. The only time that is ever a problem is when you are trying to snipe an e-bay auction and you forget and miss it by an hour. :)
