sassy

As long as he builds a proper system that does not pollute the groundwater You need not be concerned about it or how it relates to Kyoto

And what the hell does this have to do with Kyoto? Kyoto is about reducing greenhouse gas emissions...this is a guy who is getting screwed around by the local government because they want to have special rules for his area....Likely all to do with taxes and fees and the like.

I did not say for him to dump the fecis in the lake which would be an apt analogy of what america does with it's carbon emissions

you are really missing the point here.

You guys talk on here about Kyoto and how terrible the US is because we didn't ratify it.  Well.. some facts about Kyoto, nobody is meeting the emissions standars set forth in the treaty.  What could would it have done for the US to ratify it?  We wouldn't meet the proposed emission levels like everybody else.  At least the US was smart enough to realize that and not sign the treaty.  Another thing about Carbon emissions, every country emits Carbon, some more than others, but all still do.  If everybody is so fond us US bashing, try moving to another country, with sky high taxes and $8.00 gas, let alone the other energy prices.

IIRC, the countries that are meeting their commitments, or coming close, are mostly those faltering economies of the former soviet union, and those with no established industry. The UK is close I believe, but most of their gains were made before Kyoto, when Margaret Thatcher's government broke the coal workers union, and moved the UK's energy production to gas, away from coal. That was done for predominantly political and economic reasons, not for environmental reasons.

If anyone wants to jump on this topic we should probably do that OVER HERE, (http://countryplans.com/smf/index.php?topic=2198.msg45135#msg45135) where things got started.

Good plan, Don.  I'm splitting this off and moving it over there.  Sorry for a bit of it out of context.

hmm Wife spanking.  That could be interesting -- Scott -- is it your intent to Hijack this thread?

Peter, I'm sure Don's and my concern was only that the direction the thread was going was not especially one that Dave's (dmlsr) friends and family would have an interest in if he was showing off his place over the net.  No problem -- I'd spank her but she probably like it and would bother me to no end with requests for more.  I don't have the energy right now.

For those of you with more interest in that --- here is a site that was pointed to on Boing Boing I think.

I have to tease you sometimes, Benevolance - it was getting too serious  ;D

And the wife spanking - its more likely that the husband needs to be spanked because he's onery & has a tendency towards being passive/agressive  ;D

Glenn please give me lots of warning when you are dropping trou...I want to get the hell out of there when that happens.

And speaking of passive agressive... Anyone ever watch the movie the War of the roses... When I was young I saw it and thought it was dumb..

then I got married and I see it was pure brilliance...

passive agressive is not a bad thing at all....

so much for global warming...

and our winter has been the coldest since we've been up here...  and for the past 2-3 years it's snowed in April...
