Title: Successful Fireplaces in Tight Houses
Post by: MountainDon on December 17, 2007, 06:02:56 PM
An interesting article I've had bookmarked for some time. A recent other topic post made me find it.

Good article. Thanks for posting it. I had a pre-fab Martin fireplace for 20 years...never a problem with it.

While fireplaces are pretty to look at they are no match for a good woodstove.

Scott I agree with you.  But anyone that has one can get almost the same type of effect with an insert.  Three times the heat output and only 1/2 to 1/3 of the wood consumption.  A glass front will also give the illusion of the open flame.
