I'm trying to source some screw for my roof to samwich the blue board between the roof sheathing and the nailers . The order will be , 2x6 T&G roof decking , VB, , 2x4 nailers on 16" OC, 8.5 of SM board with 1/2 ply sheathing on top, with 2x10s cut to 8.5" around edges to box it in . But having a problem sourcing screws that are long enough , 8.5" long.
Would love to use yellow zinc #10, robinson or philips head flat head.
Try calling Mid-Valley Distributing in Fresno, CA. They can get almost anything in fasteners and I have been using their services for hard to get stuff since 1974.

looks like they are the winner
#14 x 8"
I was pretty sure that would be the only number you would need. If I know them the price will be right too.
I got 3/8" x 12" lags from them for .38 each if I remember right. Other places wanted up to $2.50 each.
They are selling stuff from a company that has a website that i was seriously thinking of buying from for about 1/3rd of price. 490 vs 179 and its the same part number.
Edit: that was tooooo good of a deal , they misquoted me , it was 179 per 500 not per 1000
ended up with `1500 for $531 :'(
Now I am curious. When you get a screw that long with a small diameter it would seem that they would snap off pretty easily. Would that be true? Just a picture that popped into my head.
Might be possible but if you run them with a drill or impact driver with an adjustable clutch such as Ryobi and others make it shouldn't be a problem.
5" of those inches are foam so shouldn't be a problem torque wise
and they are #14 not the smaller size that I orginally wanted
