Title: Buiding Victoria's house Overseas
Post by: Bruce8444 on October 29, 2006, 05:44:43 PM
Does anyone have any experiance building any of the houses with plans on CountryPlan.com in countries outside of North America.
I'm looking at building a house in New Zealand and I would like to build the 'Victoria's House', but I don't know how well the measurements will transfer into metric and if transfering it into metric will change the structural design (eg: effective span length, etc...). Odes anyone have any experiance doing this

thx
Bruce

A Construction Master calculator will easily make the conversions in size but I don't know how this would compare to your stock sizes and strengths of wood.  Jonesy is down there in Hay, NSW, AU.  He may know more about this but has been working out of town off and on so we haven't seen as much of him lately.  Cecilia is down that way also but built their own design.

Do you have codes to deal with there also?
