Title: Got the plans 14x24 wall height question
Post by: optionguru on October 16, 2006, 07:01:40 PM
I'm going to build the 14x24 and I was thinking of using 12 foot 2x6's for the wall framing.  I was going to add a foot to the downstairs headroom and then add the other 3 to the loft.  Are there flaws to my thinking?  Any considerations other than just stretching the lengths?

Thanks,
Peter

That is basically what is shown in the Builder's cottage (from the Enchilada (http://www.jshow.com/y2k/listings/43.html) plans). If you have the connection details from that set you should have no problem. Many folks have built with 10' and 12' studs balloon framing the loft floor.
