Title: Bondo
Post by: CREATIVE1 on August 19, 2006, 11:12:55 AM
My dog, cute as she may be, is a terrible door scratcher.  I fill, she scrapes, back to square one.  Was reading about using bondo as a wood filler.  Any thoughts or other ideas?

It's good for almost anything except breakfast.  There is even a commercial woodfiller which is exactly that -at a higher cost of course.  Tan colored is the only difference - ingredients are the same as far as I saw.

It doesn't stain well  ;D But for paint grade stuff it's the bomb ;)

Metal plate?  unpainted, of course.

Teach her to ring a bell? (maybe not too difficult, but it would mean that you couldn't ignore her bells until she was confident that that was what she was supposed to do to get in--or out)

Thought about a metal plate, might look a little goofy on two french doors.  Wish I had yelled at the dog more when she was little!  So cute (still is) that I was less than effective.

I have seen Brass plates made just for that purpose- they may look ok - it was at a hardware store I think.
