Title: small cabin flooring
Post by: clovergecko1 on May 20, 2006, 09:35:33 AM
This question may be obvious to most but here goes. In the small cabins what keeps the floor from getting too much moisture and rotting?

With a crawlspace it is having it high enough off the ground and having ventilation.  There are other methods too.

Since it's a "small" cabin, why not put roofing tar underneath? That's what we do on the underneath of teardrops, and it works great!

Otherwise you have to rely on ventilation, etc, and there's no guarantees...

Mike...

P.S. BTW, after the roofing tar is dry you could put Extruded Polystyrene insulation underneath too, with no worries of mold or rot.
