Has anyone seen this book, looks interesting but my library doesn't have it in the catalog.

I haven't seen that one, Judy, but it sounds interesting.  Just about every little house we saw in France in the countryside was interesting looking.  It says most of these were based on euro houses.

I've seen it.  The cover house is, IIRC the one with the dog-trot in the center that the architect (just graduated or student) designed for his parents.  And that we've had as a thread started by someone who was fascinated by it, if only he could....

Alibris has copies for less (sometimes even Powell's used books).  In this case a lot of people seem to be selling (for around $10 including shipping) new copies off the remainder shelves.

I'm buying more and more used books through (not exactly from) Alibris and Amazon's used book people/bookstores.  I expect that one of my cousins sells through one of those.

This little book on little houses has some very interesting and actionable small home designs. One of the nicest is a group of shed roofs connected by wood decks - lots of space and privacy in an easy to build structure with not a lot of SF.
