Title: HouseTrucks
Post by: jstig on May 12, 2006, 04:04:39 PM
I found this site and really enjoyed it - especially the section on contruction of a house truck.  The house truck this guy built would really make a neat little cabin.

I knew a couple--truckers both--who did without a house until they could just about pay cash for one.

But they had an ancient and sometimes cranky leased cabover-new trucks outgassed with horrible smells.  Not near as pleasant as these.  But these probably won't haul a trailer-load of hazardous waste half-way across the county  ;) .

At a bluegrass festival years ago, all the performers came in busses, usually those big greyhound or trailways conversions, the New Grass Revival came in a barely modified school bus, really proud of the fact that the big guys didn't have enough room for everybody to sit around and pick, so the vehicle of choice for playing music was the old school bus.  Might or might not work for those truck houses, because they might be too private to invite everybody in.
