... And All In One Project (http://www.deckmagazine.com/codes-and-standards/a-deck-built-to-fail.aspx)
What?
It looks good to me. ???
I found it... innovative. Especially the sideways 2x8. :)

Looks good to go....no better or worse than most in this neck o' the woods....reminds me of a deck remodel we did several years ago. Homeowners were getting ready to sell, wanted new decking to cover up rotten untreated framing....owner standing below watching me pull up decking when a joist literally crumbled in half and nearly beaned him on noggin. He goes, "Guess we'll have to replace that one.".......give me strength...... d*
I used to live in New Haven, and I think the 'paddock style' railings are to cut your chances of being hit by stray gun fire by 50%.
I didn't realize that was a picture of the local crew ;D
There was a little hole in the wall restaurant that opened up along one of my frequent paths. The entry was about 4' above grade. They had stacked pallets to create a stairway and stoop, no rail... it actually looked pretty good. I couldn't figure out how they had opened, it took several weeks for them to catch it.
I saw the guy in the middle in Mariposa the other day. He wanted to stop by my house but I decided meeting him in town was scary enough! :o
