Hey Guys,
While it's not exactly on topic, I'll bet enough of you live out in the country where you might have to deal with moles. Please help. We've got moles in the yard and we can't get rid of them. The burrow all their little tunnels under our bricks, concrete and asphalt, causing stuff to collapse. Just today we filled a hole that they dug inbetween the carport and the garage with concrete. Prior to filling it with concrete we filled their hole with water... the water just kep on pouring in... finally the water came out of the hole on the other side of the carport, 10 feet away. >:(
We've tried some of the basics... grub ex to get rid of their food supply, molex to get rid of them... but they seem to persist. any ideas how I can get rid of them?

Maybe some help here : http://www.themoleman.com/
wish you luck, deana
Some people say road flares lit and put down the hole work- no guarantees.
The Mole Man says that this doesn't work.
(he is biased. he might be right, though--especially if he's right that moles make those shallow tunnels to get at food they know is there, so the fact that they don't come back through them doesn't mean they've gone for good.)

Of course "The Barkers" CB and his sister Miss Cherty Pie Barker, would be very happy to dig anywhere they can spot moles in your yard.
They do more damage than the moles. Strangely, they mostly dig when they are both outside. Not necessarily together, but both out. Fortunately, that isn't too often. And CB is usually more interested in his squeaky bone than he is in a stupid mole.

thanks guys...
I like the idea of bringing in Carl....
But the Moleman website is a good share... thanks we'll be studying that till the moles are gone...

Try "DRY ICE" (frozen carbon dioxide) It will fill the tunnels with CO2 and moles will suffocate.
DANGER - DRY ICE will give you INSTANT FROSTBITE. Use tools or insulated gloves!
DON'T LATCH THE COOLER LID! "DRY ICE" EXPANDS AS IT TURNS INTO A GAS; BOOOM!

There is a guy who has a book out, 101 ways to a pest-free property. He says for moles, go and buy a cheap transistor radio, set it on a rock station and bury it in your yard. Just mark the spot so you can change the batteries every so often until the mole leaves.

That's a great sense of humor!
Funny! Funny! Funny!
Caddyshack is one of those classics that will live on forever.
I just glad someone didn't ask a question that caused you to post a picture of the Baby Ruth floating in the swimming pool!
the rock station is a classic idea. I wonder how people come up with ideas like this?
The bad thing about moles is that they must taste like crap...
At my dads we would catch moles all the time in the rat traps and throw them to the yard cats he had...They would never, ever eat a mole...
They would fight to the death over a rat or a squirrel...And we caught oodles of the damned squirrels....But we had to stop throwing the moles to the cats and throw them in the trash ...(Stove barrell out in the yard)
Maybe that is why the Moles are so prevalent...they have no natural enemies or enemies that want to eat them?

We used to catch elephants by laying down in the grass and making noise like a peanut, but I don't think that will work with a mole :-/
I would be interested in hearing what a peanut sounds like ;)
