Title: Happy Halloween
Post by: Adam Roby on October 31, 2015, 06:41:20 PM
I thought I would the one to finally say it, I know you all wanted to.  :)

I just got back with my daughter.  There were people walking around with their candy giving it to kids on the street because nobody was going to their homes.  Street after street with all the lights off... maybe its just the neighborhood, a lot of older folks and not many kids...

What kind of turnout did you all have tonight?

We got aprox. 50 kids this year. They were all well mannered and a real joy,.
My wife sets things up and posts a piece of cardboard with the wrappers
displayed on it.
When the kids come by she tells them to pick 3 from the selection. The little ones can just point if they don't know the names. we had a little mute girl this year so that
worked out very well. The kids are really awestruck to be able to choose so we get
kids who are the offspring of kids who came here years ago. The word really travels fast.

Wife reported NO trick-or-treaters this year....Got pulled downtown to work the Gaslamp district and spotted this little guy early in the evening

Later it got so busy we had to shut down some of the streets so it was foot traffic only.  Plenty of people dressing up, but they've traded their sucrose treats in for Etoh ones
