I am about to install metal siding on my shop/barn. Just want to make sure trolley track goes on AFTER siding is all up and I don't need to do anything with siding to set it up for track. How do I cut metal ribs after its up so track will sit flat?
Never done one but have been around them. I believe there is a spacer between the track and the flats to sit the track proud of the ribs. Check the manufacturer's install sheet. The metal shop should also have a cover detail piece for the track and top of the door.
Generally there are standout brackets that the rail mounts to. Depending on the design of your metal I doubt that the ribs protrude further than the brackets do but I would check on that. The brackets usually mount in between the ribs unless the door manufacturer designates certain mounting location ( most are flexible). Just make sure that you have ample framing to attach the brackets to .
