Title: Taxes...Getting Prepared
Post by: sparks on January 06, 2013, 10:38:21 PM
I'm getting my annual tax stuff together...again. According to my last check stub, I've worked in IN, AL, CA, IA, IL, MD, OH, PA, and WI.

VT, OR, and FL are missing.

I believe OR and FL don't have a state tax. Vermont does. And I haven't worked in MD or PA this past year.

Yet, when I worked in VT, OR, or FL ....MD and PA state taxes were witheld.....states I haven't worked in this past year.   Hhhmmmmm..........I earned wages in states with no income tax, but paid witholding to other states I haven't worked in.. ???

CA and PA seem to have a dual witholding system.....but I haven't worked in PA........

Methinks the company I work for is doing some kind of creative accounting....

And I hope I don't get caught in the crossfire.

In the words of the famous Jeff Foxworthy "there is no way to describe the situation without using the word 'cluster."  Good luck with that one!

Oregon has state income tax, they do not have state sales tax.
