Title: Antifreeze and Toilet
Post by: Yankeesouth on November 08, 2012, 12:34:30 PM
Hopefully a simple question.....Is RV antifreeze Ok to winterize a toilet if you have a septic system?  I cannot get all of the water out of my toilet.  Will RV antifreeze do anything, meaning interfere, to the breaking down of waste when I kick back in next spring/summer?

RV antifreese will work but check which ones- some are safer and biodegradable than others

like
http://www.splashwash.com/Product.aspx?pid=7

or Prestone low tox antifreeze which biodegrades faster and is not as bad to the enviroment as the standard

The ones too look for are based on

Propylene glycol, as the main ingredient, is a common food additive that is also used in many other products such as cosmetics. It's both biodegradable and water soluble, and requires no special handling in normal consumer quantities
