Title: Min. Sq. footage for building
Post by: hunter63 on February 09, 2006, 11:42:22 AM
While looking and talking to some real estate guys, (look at the listings, then talking to them about codes, perk, roads, power etc), I was finding aLOT of land for sale in northern Wi, the townships have limited the square footage to 800 sq ft.
I wondering if that is a state code or just local? Any ideas?
Gonna check into this.

Could be any.  State, county or township. Even a subdivision with its own CCRs.   Just to be sure, you need to talk to the local planning, zoning, code enforcement people.  They'll tell you the minimums and where they apply.  Sometimes RE agents just repeat urban legends.

I was told the same thing in Klamath Falls, OR, but then the planning depertment told me that the only sizes that are necessary are room sizes.  Bedroom min of 120sq (huge for a min in my opinion), kitchen 80sq, bathroom 40 sq, none for living, and nothing saying you have to have bedroom.  I agree, check with local zoning and building.
