I'm doing some serious testing with my new GH2 I just hacked and bumped the bit rate up on.
Of course, nothing on the farm was cooperating. No Bears to be found, no Deer, Bobcats just a Buzzard that's always hanging around waiting for me to croak.
I really wanted to try my Canon Lenses on it to get wildlife shots (The 100-400L lens vignettes badly unless I use the tele extender mode but so what)....anyway
I drove a couple hours to the nearest zoo.
The results were unbelievable. I have video cameras costing ten times this little Panasonic that don't give anywhere near the video quality. The files are huge but worth it.
Even after getting one on Vimeo with their butcher transformation, it's impressive. Manual focus is still a little shaky and I played with the F stops when I should have left them alone. I even bumped the tripod once but I am in love with this thing.
Comments and observations are always welcome (I'm biased ;D)

the qua1lity of this vid is excellent
I just hooked up to the 46 inch Viera with the HDMI interface from the new Asus laptop --- just like animal planet -- superb
As an aside I just returned from a road trip to the twin cities --- the deer population in N Wisconsin is very robust-- there was a 50 mile section above the Dells that had virtually every harvested corn field thick with deer -- I estimated 50 to 100 deer in one field -- most had 5 to 10
this is the tough time of year for them -- but they looked good -- already scruffy looking as they are shedding their winter coat
I like the turtle the best
