When I was tossing around the idea of building something earth bermed, I bought this book: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0865715211/ref=oh_o05_s00_i00_details

It has some pretty good detail, and gave me lots of good ideas. I recommend it.

Mike Oehler's book, $50 and Up Underground House Book

is the definitive guide.
