I am triyng to find out what these items are called. I my current house all of the exterior lights and outlets have a plastic shield that it against the housewrap and the stucco or trim goes up against this. They make them for coach light and a different version for outlets. trying to find some additional options.
Not sure I'm understanding but try "weatherproof cover" or "weatherproof outlet cover"

yes thats exactly what i am looking for. Seems that these only come in white. I would like to know from anyone that has put up cement board siding or wood siding how did you handle your outside outlets and lights when it came to this area. Did you use this or another solution.
They come in white but they are paintable.

I could not find the box at the big box stores, but did at a electric supply store. Here is one similar to the one I show above:
