I use a lot of cameras and have 16 game cameras out in the fields. I even made an interface so I can use my GoPro's as game cameras. I use them in documentaries also. The Scout Guards are on their last legs and the Bushnell's were never worth a darn, neither are the Stealths, or any of the others except the cheapies I just bought. The IQ could be better but they work reliably....so I decided to move up this time.
I started to get two Reconyx 500's but could only find one. I bought one of the new Leupold RCX2's yesterday, thinking Leupold would only put their name on the best. It went back this morning.
So....I did what I should have done in the first place and called Reconyx direct. Camera number 2 is on it's way now.
I bought a Moultrie 145 a while back
I has, so far, been reliable and takes good pics and videos
the IR flash is very dim (looking at the camera) but illuminated the field very well at night
It also has a feature to send pics to a website so that you can see what is happening remotely in near real time
I have not used this feature yet ....
IIRC it was about $220 at Bass Pro
it took this one

My $100 cheapy from Sportsmans Warehouse basically works...but sucks. It clearly misses things it should not but appears to be slow enough to do so....just awful reaction times and it eats D Cell batteries.
Had NO pictures of the nice big deer that walked in front of it, walking away from it mind you...tracks as plain as day...no pics...also had a cat walk in front of it...no pics....
I plan to get something better soon.
My Scoutguards still work fine

Glad they're holding up Don. Great little cameras especially for the price!
My Scoutguard works erratically. Sometimes great, sometimes not so good. I get frustrated with the foggy looking pix. I need to experiment with the video mode somewhat.
Here are some recent pix from a month or so ago :

I've been using the video more than stills. I forget and then end up with lots of videos of myself cutting wood, scratching my ass and so on.......

At least he realizes it's him. I had one where my first words were "What's that old Ba$***d doing on my farm" :(
And I just thought it was mirrors that have deteriorated in quality over the years....now its lenses as well....what's the world coming to?!

They're not? ;D
Wildgame Innovations IR6 $109 on amazon. Grabbed 42 photos over 3 weeks. One of me walking away. 40 of nothing.. ??? and 1 of me coming back. The first and last are no mystery, but 40 images of trees? Last I checked, trees are not warm blooded. Infrared my foot!
I get some false triggers with wind movement of the trees/bushes. I got a whole series of videos covering a couple hours when I was burning a pile of debris a few weeks back.
Saw some tracks in the snow which went right passed my camera. Excited I trudged up to the camera to see if it had a bunch of pictures. The tracks were most likely a big dogs but in the snow I wasn't 100% sure as there were some serious claws in those toes....
Opened the camera which began to snap a picture as I opened it.....
Total pictures....ONE??? d* ??? :o
Not good. Clearly the camera doesn't always snap pictures and that pisses me off!
