Has anyone attempted to build their cottage using these steel framed panelized systems? If so......
Do the go together fairly easy?
Are the panels as light weight as they say?
Was there a cost savings?
I was quoted 13K for the lumber (to stick frame) and another $9500 for frame labor. It is my understanding (not completely verified) but a 24x24 steel panel home/shell would be about 10K and labor is vastly reduced.
Thoughts?

There is one thread here - a build in Texas if I remember correctly.
I went to a seminar on steel framed buildings years ago. There was a company in Albuquerque trying to push them for residential use. In some locations they make good sense. You could get a nice insurance discount for steel roof and framing, with a fire-resistant siding.
Not a lot of info online about these panels, but seems pretty cool and if it is a cost savings why not. Plus it is green building to boot.
I worked with a company in Chihuahua, MX, Sunway Homes, who was working with steel frame houses. Not cheap but very well built with a world class engineering firm..
Not sure how far they ever got. Very nice people.
I was at the ceremony and took the picture on the linked page in '96.

I don't know if they have dealers set up in the US, but as with any investment - check references.
I know Mario personally but haven't been in contact with him for several years. I did tour a lot of his projects in Mexico.
Interesting website, thank you. I will keep researching to see if I can find a US dealer. Any imput on this topic is welcomed and appreciated.
