I'm finally ready to get my water running. ;D I called the local plumbing inspector and he said I need to have the supply and waste lines pressure tested. Anyone know how to do this? I'm guessing that all my stub outs need to be capped off somehow along with my vent stacks. Does the leach field need to be isolated or will that hold air pressure?
Yes, everything has to be capped off, and the line to tank is cut and plugged to the house side. Then whole thing is pressurized, with a gauge attached to see if it is holding pressure for a set amount of time. This is in Wisconsin.
YIKES!!! All my plumbing is below grade (slab on grade foundation). Does this mean that I have to dig down to my main soil pipe that goes to the septic tank and physically cut it?! I really don't want to do that.
Can you plug it from inside the septic tank?

There should be a cleanout upstream of the tank. You should be able to open it and slip in an inflateable plug. Cleanouts often need teflon tape to hold pressure. If you have any plumbing buddies they probably have enough to plug everything and a set of pressure guages you can borrow for the test. This is normally all done at rough in here.
