Well :-\
:-\Another 911, another nonevent even though the Government was making "Terrorists at the Gates" noises.
I'm reminded of a story Peter Hathaway Capstick told.
A native bearer was walking in lion country. Suddenly a lion jumped up and started chasing the fellow. The bearer ran for all he was worth but tripped. The lion was running so hard he ran over the man and just kept going.
The bearer stood up, looked around, dusted himself off and walked over to us.
I told him how lucky he was but he looked at me and said "Oh no, it's skill. I often avoid lions like that!
I suppose Big Sis often prevents terrorism like this. c*
Reminds me of the old Cockburn song. It was as relevant then as it is today.

Peter I really don't care if his writings were sown with a few untruths now and then. Okay maybe a lot of ....
What author does not stretch the envelope to make a point. Short of one of those sit on the edge of your seat finger nail chewing tech manuals. YA BABY Now there is a good read!! Capstick has been gone since 1996 according to Wikipedia. (So I know that is true.) But still he can provide a white knuckle page turner. I think I have read most of his stuff a couple times.
Being from Idaho and Elmer Keith the father of the modren day magnum as well being from Idaho. I hate to admit it, but believe it or not he also could stretch the truth now and then. Father in law knew him fairly well both being gun nuts, he knew Keith to tell a tall tale now and then. ;)
Peter thinks for sharing.......
