Today I was searching online for some information and came across this link from APA (The Engineered Wood Association). I thought it was a worthwhile read.

By some strange coincidence while I was reading it I received an email update from APA. It was announcing some new publications from APA.

It is necessary to register for their free downloads, but to me that's no big deal. Note, that they do have downloads that are not free, but these are free.
[cool] I was just getting ready to post those links MD. These were close enough it took a quick run through to make sure none of mine were in there.
I've been to a lecture by the author of the southern tornados pdf and posted his powerpoint notes here in the past. Between his pics and comments this is someone to listen to. He is an engineer and goes in after the event and tries to figure out why the houses failed and how to prevent it in the future. Good stuff, register, download and make these a must read.
Something to think about, pier and beam foundations would not have made it into these pictures, there would not be anything left to photograph in the wake of these storms.

Maybe some piers sticking out of the ground with scraps of wood still nailed to them.
