Title: water tanks
Post by: new land owner on May 19, 2011, 07:31:31 PM
Has anyone ever used those water tanks with the steel cage around them? They are sold for about $100.00 for a 300 gal tank on CL.  I was thinking about buying two or three and using these in series as a way to store water in my crawl space.

Make sure they were used for "Food Grade".  I have two. One is being used with a nippler for the pigs and the other I use for transporting water for various reasons.  In addition when you are using them for gravity feed you will need to leave the top cap loose to avoid them vapor locking.

I was considering that too. The $100 ones I found were always used.  I think they are 200-300 New. Most I found had questionable use history (paints, solvents, cleansers, pesticides).  I think farmers use them for shipping and storing molasses.  If you can maybe try a farm supply store  to find one that can be used with potable water.  Good luck.
