Title: positioning of soil pipe in a slab
Post by: UK4X4 on May 17, 2011, 10:38:27 PM

I'm outside the US and can't pop into the local library.........and funilly enough can't find it on the web either

probably using the wrong "english"

In my house plan I have bathrooms positioned in both rear corners

In the UK the soil pipe exists the rear of the apliance

In the US its below.

I need to draw up my slab plan and want to dimension where the soil pipe and vent should be.

The plumber wants 1K to put in 3 pipes in the slab--------all three on the outside wall

ie max 3ft long

The toilets in the house are stacked above each other- to make plumbing simpler so in the corner of the building will be the main soil stack

then on each floor another toilet

Wall mount (rear exit) toilets are available in the US, but harder to find. Would that help?  Google wall mount toilet.

Just to clarify, that's 12" from the finished wall. If you're doing 1/2" sheetrock you'd measure 12 1/2" from the studs.
