Title: new vid: earth berm pig shelter cuts pig feed costs
Post by: paul wheaton on April 13, 2011, 08:11:22 AM
Marina from Dell Artimus Farm shows off her earth berm pig shelter.

The shelter is based on the earth berm shelters by Sepp Holzer.

Her two guinea hogs are truly free range.  Which accounts for how she
can get by on feeding them so little.   Which is another interesting
thing:  all of the pig feed is fermented or milk from their cow.

I watched that yesterday, Paul.  Interesting information.  Would work for a people house too.... Well... for me anyway.  :)

That's what I was thinking:  this is exactly like glenn's house.  Only completely different!  :)

I remember seeing lots of this sort of animal shelter at high altitude small farms in Switzerland.
