Title: More Booze, Anyone??
Post by: sparks on January 03, 2011, 10:44:48 PM
Typically, I don't mind a well made cocktail. However, I'm not real sure how my vehicles and various toys are going to feel about this concoction.

A friend / coworker of mine just bought a new Ford truck with the Flex Fuel logo on the side. I said what does that mean? He said It means I can run 15% ethanol, except the dealer told me not to do it because the truck would not run very will on it !

The fuel mileage is what I've heard about, a quick google turned up this consumer report on one test vehicle
http://www.consumerreports.org/cro/cars/new-cars/news/ethanol/test-results-e85-vs-gasoline/index.htm
I'm not seeing how this kind of mileage hit is going to wean us off foreign oil  ???

not to mention it takes an impressive pile of firewood to cook corn.

It's also very hard on small engines. The fuel line in my chainsaw completely melted into brown sludge in the bottom of the fuel tank.
