I read about them on another forum. This should not be considered an endorsement of their product, I'm just interested in people's opinion of the design.

Would you trust a cabin to this design? What if it was on a slope? Seems an interesting design. The concrete head sits on the surface and 4 pins up to 80" long are driven at angles through the head into the soil using a jackhammer.
Thanks.
Dave, I think it is a great design, but a little expensive, so I designed my own.
Poppy's Pin Pier desgin starts on page 3 of my cabin thread. http://countryplans.com/smf/index.php?topic=7241.40
I believe the manufacturer has a max. soil slope specified in their info.
Dave, I asked the same question back in March '09. http://countryplans.com/smf/index.php?topic=6512.0
Dave, I also wrote a report on my experiences with my own design. http://countryplans.com/smf/index.php?topic=7709.0
That'll teach me to do a search first eh? Thanks Poppy.
I think we had another discussion on them too.
There are also expensive helical piers that can be screwed into the ground with a Bobcat attachment.
In the ever expanding Texas soil you may want to run your piers to bedrock. . . Find someone who installs telephone poles. Generally they will drill holes for about $100.00 ea.

Thanks Bay. I'm looking into that.
