Title: My home, cost- $60,000  appraised at $140,000
Post by: housebuilder on September 20, 2006, 10:51:21 AM
We built our home almost ten years ago. I did all the work myself from start to finish. My cost of materials was $60,000. It appraised for $140,000. We have been so fortunate to have low monthly payments and a high amount of equity for extra financial security.

Nice project, housebuilder.  Does your site go into building detail on it?

Housebuilder:

You have posted a bit of an ad here but your story should be of interest to our members whether or not they buy your book (http://www.make-my-own-house.com/sweat-equity.html)

You advocate customizing a simple plan which is exactly what I'm attempting to do with the PlanHelp (http://www.planhelp.com/public/92.cfm?sd=21) site.

Welcome to the forum and I look forward to your experienced contributions to the ongoing story of self-built shelter.

PS - here is a link to a somewhat similar project discussed on this forum:
