As a place to live while building, a remote cabin, or maybe a summer guesthouse, yurts have their appeal. BUT--most cost so much(and are relatively impermanent) that it would probably be better to haul in a travel trailer or build a 12 x 12 cabin.
While exploring the subject last year (after seeing a yurt near Olympia, Washington, in a sweet spot atop a cliff overlooking an inlet), I found an INEXPENSIVE yurt. Just passing it along:
