That's pretty cool.  He has some more stuff including the shack if you go to his shed page and scroll down.

Hum. Now you have my curiosity up. Where would this be. I would imagine that it is probably in the Cannan valley as this is about the only private land given that setting. The name of the farm also indicates a general area .It also allows off road vehicles which the NFS do not.  This state is common to little cabins used for hunting but there has been alot of thought into this one. Pretty neat.

I'm gratified you like the Shack. I've been keeping my eye on this forum for a long time, and was going to join, but too many other things are happening these days. Plus, I don't have a piece of land for MY cabin yet  :(

At any rate, as well as the shed tag (posted above), I've also written about cabins and huts, which I think will entertain some of you. I'm a total nut for little buildings......

Enjoy! And I'll be back!

w* . I just replied to the Hinkle post in hopes to find out what area it was.  If the author is Justin from Upper Track you are just up the road from me.

Hey, all! Justin here, the materialicious man I'm glad I finally joined! It's only been a few years  d*

Anyways, yes, the Shack is located at Hinkle Farm in Upper Tract, WV and the architect and his family use it as a 3-season getaway. I post stuff like this, because they are inspiring and you can glean all sorts of fresh ideas for your own projects. No use criticizing, because I can assure you that the architect cares not a whit what people think......

I will continue to post all I find at the blog, and try to participate here when time allows, and hopefully y'all will give me the needed push to get my own cabin built!!!

Howzabout www.fabprefab.com ? I've been hanging out on their message board for years, as I'm a huge fan of modern prefab architecture. And shipping container architecture!!! That's another area I'm totally nutty about...................

Ciao.

Justin

We have discussed containers a bit before.  When you get time tell us about the cabin you plan to build, Justin.

Justin glad to see someone close by.  I am just in Pocahontas Co down Rt 28/92 near the Va Line.  My little cabin started little but grew.  Winter has about caught me now.  It listed @ http://countryplans.com/smf/index.php?topic=3613.0

Hey, y'all...

Things have changed quite dramatically in my life these last three years - I moved to Sarasota, Florida in 2009, and then last summer I sold materialicious.com After traveling a bit, I decided to round up all "my" cabins and post 'em to a new blog http://themoderncabin.com/ (sorry, Gandalf, your list is about to get a tad longer  ::) ). Mostly MODERN and heavy on Scandinavian, but there's quite a mix so far. This is a PERSONAL blog, mind you, not for profit. There's no writing - just pretty pictures. Click on the pictures to follow the links, or click on the titles to see more.

I'm at the point now where I shall be returning to New England this summer and scout out a piece of coastal land, probably Down East Maine somewhere. My uncle and aunt have a place in Castine, which is nice, but I want something a bit wilder. But I have a very strong urge to get back to working with my hands again, and only a cabin will do.

Anyway, for the time being I shall be posting more cabins to the new blog, and maybe create another side blog for STUFF. Hey! If you have any links to cabins that you feel would fit the blog, please do send 'em my way, via the contact page on the site.

Enjoy, y'all.

Justin
