Title: Foundation sealer options

I am just about ready to seal the exterior of my foundation and put up the 2" rigid foam. I am thinking of just using tar typ sealer applied with a brush.

Are there other option I should be looking at?

What about using Grace ice & water shield below grade? ???

I've never had a basement or concrete or other wall to seal and haven't looked into it much. What I've seen have been some sort of roll on or spray on black tar like material.  ???
