hi i'm new and looking to build a cabin, i have 11 ac in the nc mountains.i'm building same thing this summer has any one seen or build a shelter-kit (www.shelter-kit.com) i love this site i have learn alot thank you paul

Looking at the Unit One, Cabin Kit and pricing--- I'll bet you could build about the same thing for less than half the cost with the
Little House Plans (http://www.jshow.com/y2k/listings/29.html)

just a 12x12 with a open deck, it will be a place to stay on the weekends and a place to stay when i build a small house.i'm plaining to build it this summer but not with there kit.just the same style,plains are to put log siding on it and use 2x6 not 2x10 for the roof and floor joins to help keep the costed down any suggestions are welcomed. i'm going to start droping trees this summer to see want views i have. my lot it is on the top of a mountain in wilkes county nc driveway is in and small open spot to build. thank you paul

I just checked the Little House Plans - they use 2x6 joists and rafters with flat or gable roof options.  Very complete instructions and John tells you how to modify the plans to fit your needs.

Those Unit One's are a good idea gone expensive IMO.......

I found them and thought they were resonably priced.  After a year or so I found this site and read about the small cabin that the site owner built (  http://www.jshow.com/y2k/listings/29.html & http://www.jshow.com/y2k/listings/3.html )and sells plans for.  He built his WAY cheaper than the Unit One's.
