we now have a aerobic system installed at the cabin!
I also bought the holding tank for our hauled water cistern.
I have accomplished other tasks at the cabin, but I have not taken any pictures yet, but they are soon to follow.

here is the hole for the aerobic system.
he hit solid rock at 3 feet

here is the aerobic tank, I was told it weighs 16,000 lbs

this is the trench for pipe to the aerobic

and here is my cistern tank.
we drove 1.5 hrs to get this thing, and 4 hrs back.
having this on the trailer was like pulling a parachute

this Friday we had a tornado shelter installed, or as my girls call it, their clubhouse.

we also trenched a line from our water tank to the house, and I'm trying to learn a little about pumps and pressure tanks so we can have running water.

another line we trenched was from our shop for a RV power supply.

here is a picture of the wagon wheel lights that will be hanging over our dining table in the near future

Really like the shelter.  I'm at the top of a large hill in East TX.  I'm going to need one of those as well.

I just got done trenching last weekend.  Your trencher looks brand new compaired to the old junk I rented.  HA!

Its been a while since my last post, we have finished most of the kitchen cabinets and tin back splash, and are waiting on drawers.
we started finishing the exterior, got the cistern installed, and have learned a lot about hauling water.

a pic of the hauled water cistern.

Tons of progress in those pictures.

I really like the cabinet doors.  Have you thought about buying some veneer sheets in the same species as the doors?  Then the boxes could match the doors.

As for the last pictures, I see one of those every time I'm up at the property.  I HATE THEM.  Looks like that one has it's young with it.  KILL THEM ALL!

today I finished wiring a 50 amp RV outlet panel.
Yesterday my wife and I pulled the wire (3 #6s and 1 #10 ground) ~125'....if I had to do it over, I would have buried 1" instead of 3/4 PVC. it was no fun pulling...
We are very excited to have our first guest to camp out in their RV Thursday of this week!!!!

Looks good.  That is one of the first things I did.  We put in one of the 30 amp ones and bought an old camper to stay in while we are up at the property.  The RV was a life saver in the summer heat.

Nice place  :D

How do you intend to protect the cistern from freezing in winter? Or does it not get that cold?

Thanks sharbin,
I will build a pole-barn style shed around it, mainly to protect the pressure tank from freezing.
with winter upon us, I need to get this thing built in a hurry.

were you able to finish "winterizing" you cistern? I will be doing that next year, so it would be interesting to know how did it go. Keep us posted ;D

astidham

Sharbin,
I am working on it as we speak.
I did have the pump and pressure tank freeze on me already one time, but it did thaw out with no issues thankfully.
I will be adding some pictures and info soon!

I took the tank out, not to worried about it freezing.

Got a glimpse of a cellar door set into what looks like a concrete bunker in the background of a couple pictures .  Is that a storm cellar?

Yes it is John, if you look at the top of page 17, it shows it being installed.

Your place is looking great! It's nice to have some time off now isn't it? Maybe we can hook up and check out each others place while we're off?

If you don't mind sharing, what did the storm shelter cost and what was the cost to install?
