Title: Distance of new construction to drilled well
Post by: Jeff922 on July 01, 2013, 09:27:03 PM
I'm getting ready to stake out the location of the barn I'm building this summer.  Where I'd like to have my barn situated on my property puts it kinda close to my drilled well, about 10'-15'.  I know it all depends on the local regulations but has anyone ever ran into a setback requirement for new construction when there is an existing drilled well on the property?  I'm just curious.  Seems to me I just need enough room to get a rig in if needed (well collapse, another hydrofrac, etc).

Also, I'm using a 16,000 lb excavator.  I have 40' of casing down to bedrock but should I be at all worried about operating this machine near the well?
