Rather than insert links to other webpages in the normal manner, where the link appears something like this...

http://www.countryplans.com

the url can be hidden under some regular text. The link appears something like this...

This is a link to somewhere else

It is easy to do once the method is learned.

Start by typing in the test to be used as the link...

Then highlight the text that is to be used as the link...

With the text highlighted, click on the insert url globe...

Open a new tab or window with the page you want to link to. Highlight and copy the address for that page. Right click and copy works well for me)...

Return to the message. Place the cursor just after the "l" in the first url tag...
 [url
... and press the "=" key to insert an equals sign...

Paste the url for the link just after the = sign, but before the closing tag bracket. I find is easiest to perform the paste by using the keyboard; press and hold the "Ctrl" key while pressing the "V" key.
It should look like this...

Complete the message and post it as usual. You can use this thread to practice if you want.

In a similar manner you can use a photo url as the anchor in place of using text. Then clicking on the image will open the link.
Just because something has been done and has not failed, doesn't mean it is good design.
