I'm thinking of using T1-11 siding on the 2 story universal. We are making it a mountain cabin and would like to keep it natural wood color. What are the best/most common/most cost effective ways of treating the T1-11 panels so that they don't discolor rapidly? Oil? Thompsons water seal? Laquer? Polyuruthane?
UV causes the color change. The coating must have a UV inhibitor to prevent change.
One of the best I've seen is for log homes - DEFY from the Log Home Store in Oregon.
I bought from them - their service was good. They carry other products but I like the DEFY. It is necessary to have some pigment but they have a light one.

Note that they have original besides the Epoxy one - and looks like clear UV resistant too.
