1x4 T&G pine

what is the most common way to attach T&G pine to the stud wall? trim nailer, Stapler?
I need suggestions.

I use a Senco finish nailer and nail through the tongue at an angle.

whats a good length of nail for this in your opinion?

I used 15 gauge 2". Partly because that is the longest nail my baby Senco gun loads and partly because I had two boxes of them.  I believe 2 inch is the minimum for 5/8 to 3/4 material, but longer can not hurt.
