I went to the gunshow today and spent too much money...so I decided to go Goose hunting (Camera) in the swamp. It did not go well. I couldn't call them in for love or money and had to try to stalk them. That never goes well.
I got close enough for a few shots, none flying or even doing anything interesting and I was pushing the limits of that inexpensive lens. I didn't have my tripod either.
Got a few enjoyable pics, but nothing to brag about. Think I'll try again Monday.

Oh...I ought the last 2000 large rifle primers on the East coast. ;D That show had the iggest turnout I've ever seen and 60 Minutes was doing piece inside.

These here is God's finest scupturings! And there ain't no laws for the brave ones! And there ain't no asylums for the crazy ones! And there ain't no churches, except for this right here!

I heard my first geese of the season this last week; heading north.

I never bothered with the gun & Knife show.
Just because something has been done and has not failed, doesn't mean it is good design.

This is the line to get into the Show ....30 minutes after they opened. The front door is under the Showplace sign.
If this is the real stimulus program, It's working. ;D

I think that's a pretty cool picture, Peter!

A friend of ours son works at a casino - he said he doesn't see any evidence of a recession or financial hardship there - it's always packed   ??? d*

Often, our ignorance is not as great as our reluctance to act on what we know.

Peter nice shot of the geese.  My father was an avid goose hunter for several years. His yearly trip to the Eastern Shore was his highpoint.  Amazing the amount of geese you would see in the eastern flyzone. More of a nuisance to the residents though.  Here we are out of the regular fly way but have plenty that the state has implanted that do not migrate.  Interesting tid bit is that they mate for life.  We had a pair hanging around the farm/creek for the last 4 years.  Nothing ever happened with the breeding until last spring. Dad said it usually took 3-4 years for them to get their act together and figure out how it's done. They finally produced about 5 chicks.  Not real sure if they made it or not.  I guess we will have to wait and see if they return with the parents later to reproduce.

Here they are just 100 feet from the house along the driveway.

Looks really idyllic, Red!
