It's an alternative insulation...

Basically, it's a flexible EPS with a mylar coating as a radiant barrier.

Where we're doing a P&B and leaving the framing exposed, standard fiberglass insulation has never even been considered.  We're essentially going to skin it with panels, so we've been looking at 2" pink/blue board.  Maybe an extra layer of foil-faced for good measure...  (though i had been puzzling over how to attach one to the other before driving barn spikes through the exterior sheathing and insulation and into the frame.)

Then I tripped over this stuff and just got off the phone with the salesman.
Who, rather than telling me over the phone what this'll cost us, is going to drive 400 miles to my house next week to make his sales pitch.  Yes, that has red flags going up all over the place!  lol  Though to be fair, he said this is his sales area and while he doesn't usually come quite this far west, he does come out this way several times a week...

Anyone have any thoughts on this?
Anyone use a alternative insulation in their house?
