I received my plans yesterday and they show the beams and piers on top?? with no hangers.

I moved this here as I thought it fit better...
Just because something has been done and has not failed, doesn't mean it is good design.

Yes, the beams are connected to the posts with brackets. I think one has a hanger where two beams come together.
None of us are as smart as all of us.
