I went down to inspect the footings that were poured a few weeks ago. The pour went well, but it looks like the vertical rebar got set so that the outer edge of the short walls will now be a bit over 28 feet apart. I can place the wall forms so that they are 28' 4" and perhaps get it in an inch more. I know I can compensate for some of this with the sill plate, if needed.
My question concerns how much effort I should make to adjust for this and where is the best place to make the adjustment. Beyond this, the footings are square and level.
Thanks,
Mike
I would put any extra length into the living room area. This change may involve a bit more work on the framing layout but will not make enough difference to worry about in terms of spans or structural considerations.
