Title: Dipping my toes
Post by: middleway on May 03, 2009, 12:37:27 PM
Hi everyone,

Have been hogging the computer for hours reading through one-tenth of the posts -- how inspiring!  I don't know whether, or at least how much, I can actually take on of this, long-harboured, building-a-place-of-my-own dream.  I am a late-middle-aged woman with no building experience.  I've done floor-stripping, painting, built rough furniture.  I'm not faint of heart, but my adventures have been of the traveling variety, including living in small spaces and unsafe conditions, and now I am without a partner and (more importantly?) without tools.  Well, my ex is a good guy and might come and help for a couple of weeks here and there, and ditto for my son-in-law who is starting out in the construction trade.  At least I think I have found some land, which will take all my money for this (and maybe next) year, and I will start hitting the books and maybe try building a shed on the land to hold tools, etc.

So - sounds like the beginnings of a plan.  Now, my question is: what tools should I start to accumulate, if I see any at garage sales, etc.?
